Update

Elaine continues to have the same issues reported on the last blog. On Thursday Mom and Dad attended a meeting with staff members who advised that Elaine's fatigue level continues to increase and more rest time will be necessary during daylight hours to allow her to obtain the proper amount of rest. When visiting during the day, don't be surprised if Elaine is in bed getting the rest she requires.

She had a good week with a lot of visitors, which is the best medicine she can receive right now. As mentioned before, nothing lifts her spirits more than seeing family and friends walk through her door.

Your continued support, concern and prayers are greatly appreciated.

Hey Woman
Well Sponge Bob and I made it make from the Outer Banks and survive tropical storm Hanna. The winds were about 40-50 miles and the house was just a swinging for about 12 hours which they say is a good thing but I wasn't liking it at all. Alot of people were packing up &leaving but we stay. Had a great time and Sponge Bob took some pictures for you to see. Got home on Sunday in time to watch the last half of the Ravens game. They looked pretty good. Yesterday I had a wisdom tooth and that was not fun at all. Monday night is the next Ravens game as it got moved because of hurricane Ike coming up the Texas coast. It's sound like Ike is going to be a pretty big storm. Hope we can all stay awake to watch the game.

Take Care

Hi Elaine,

Sorry we didn't get a chance to visit you this week. We plan on visiting next week. Kimmy will be taking some more pictures of you. Rest up because we want you to look pretty.

Hope the Ravens look as good this week as they did last week. Let's hope this is their year.

Hope you got the Rosary Beads and are using them. We all are.

Take Care.

Love,
Terri

Hey Elaine,
Hope this note on the blog finds you rested. I have not seen your parents this week. I know they are busy and I do work most of the day.

The storm "Ike" looks as if did a lot of damage. The news reporter said her carpet was wet on the 5th floor of her hotel room. Wow so much water, Mother Nature can be really fierce when it wants to be.

I spoke with my mom last night, she lives in Portland, Maine, and she had to turn her heat on yesterday morning to take the chill off the house. She said it was only 40 degrees. Brrrrr... I guess cooler weather is on its way.

It surely looks like it is going to be a pretty day today. Sometimes I wish I still had a yard to go do things in, like mow grass, dig in the dirt or just sit and watch the clouds go by. Watching clouds in a really blue sky is on of my all time favorite things to do. I guess maybe I will try it this afternoon on my little patch of earth.

Now back to reality, the wash needs to be put in the dryer, floors need to be swept and the greatest of all dusting,(which I think is never ending)

I am going to leave you with a little quote from a woman of a friend of mine who is gravely ill, Her quote is
"There is no adventure without a few dragons"
when ever I feel blue I think of that saying.

Those who hope in the name of the Lord will renew their strength,
They will soar like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Keep strong Elaine,
You are loved
Hugs,
Eileen

Hi Elaine!!

During my visit last Tuesday, it was great to see you join with other residents in the morning hymnal session and also participate in the chair exercise session. Even us “non-residents” benefited from both of these activities. We giggled at the “power of tradition” when most of the residents wanted to watch “Price is Right” – old traditions just don’t go away.

I am so glad that you are at ease with the conversations at your dining table; you even remarked how the ladies are always looking after each other. Regarding the Ravens, Joe Flacco has been designated to start game #2, so let’s hope for more success; remember the fan chant of “Let’s Go Flacco” from game #1.

I’ll see you on Tuesday – and Geri will be joining me as she is coming to MD for the annual girl’s trip to SunFest in OC.

May God’s Blessings be with you.

Love, JoAnn

Hi, Elaine.
When I was there with you a couple of weeks ago, the sky was a beautiful blue with puffy white clouds. It's a nice sky today too. I think I'll do what Eileen has in mind and just sit and watch the clouds. I'll keep you in mind with prayers too.
